The Siamese and Oriental Cat Society of Scotland

Welcome to our website. Our principle activities are running an annual show, and welfare for Siamese and Oriental cats. In addition, we have a Facebook page, and members receive a number of benefits. See our Join the Society page for more information.

Special General Meeting

We are holding an SGM on Sunday 12th July at 2pm – this is the day after the Scotia show. This meeting will be by Zoom only. Invites will be emailed to members today, July 2nd 2026.

Show 2026

Our 50th show is now in the rear view mirror. We had 13 pedigree cats and 9 household pets entered. The number of pedigree cats is commendable being as high or higher than any other Scottish show and also the Lakeland, and also the Durham and Northern Counties shows. However very sadly there were no Household Pets entered.

Saving Wildcats

This year the Nor’East and Siamese and Oriental were hosting Saving Wildcats, an organisation dedicated to helping save Scotland’s Wildcats. These beautiful felines are incredibly rare – it’s one of the UK’s rarest animals, and has suffered greatly from lose of habitat, persecution, and of late breeding with domestic cats.

Saving the gorgeous cats will help many other species, as part of the work involves encouraging the return of Caledonian pine forests, which are the habitat for several other rare species including the capercaillie, black ground, and the Scottish crossbill.

There is also a captive breeding program taking place at the Highland Wildlife Park, near Kincraig, and last but not least a Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return program in Badenoch and Strathspay. This also ties into encouraging responsible ownership of pet cats, which should be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
